‘Maybe’: Zabaleta says he might just tell Manchster City star to join West Ham United

Pablo Zabaleta has said that he might just try to persuade Sergio Aguero to join West Ham United this summer on the All To Play For podcast.

Aguero has already confirmed that he will be leaving Manchester City this summer, with EuroSport suggesting that a stay in the Premier League would appeal to the striker.

West Ham have enjoyed great success this year, but they have a lack of options up-front.

And presenter Tom Davies suggested that Aguero would be a great option for David Moyes’ side.

Getting Aguero to sign could take some persuasion, given the amount of offers he will surely get as a free agent.

Zabaleta has suggested that he would be willing to tell his former teammate Aguero just how good life at West Ham is though, after spending his last few playing years with the club.

“He knows that! I met him a couple of times when I was at West Ham and I enjoyed the life in London so much,” Zabaleta said.

“Maybe, if I speak to Sergio again! Maybe West Ham can make the Champions League this season the way they’re playing.”

Moyes has tended to avoid signing older players since arriving at West Ham, but it may be worth making an exception in Aguero’s case.

The Argentine is one of the finest strikers of the Premier League era, and his finishing ability and experience could be a real help to West Ham, especially if they do make it into the Champions League.

Pablo Zabaleta has told the All to Play for Podcast that he used to want to ‘smash’ West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen in training.

Bowen and Zabaleta only played together at West Ham for a few months, but the winger made a lasting impression on the Argentine.

Indeed Zabaleta admits that he used to try and rough Bowen up in training, but the 24-year-old simply never shied away from the challenge.

“Bowen, he came from Hull in the Championship! He is the player who in training you want to smash him,” Zabaleta said.

“He’s so quick and sharp on the ball. He is very skillful. We used to smash him, and he never complained about anything, he’d just come up again. ‘Give me the ball again, I will go against you again’.

“At West Ham that’s the players that you need. West Ham is made for those players.”

Bowen has certainly impressed since moving to West Ham from Hull City, after coping with the step up comfortably.

The attacker has proven a reliable source of goals, and he is a constant threat due to his pace and work ethic.

With David Moyes in charge, Bowen is exactly the sort of player who the Scot values.
